A WEB BASED SYSTEM FOR REGISTRATION AND MONITORING OF INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS (IDPs) IN NIGERIA

ABSTRACT
Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) refers to someone or group of persons who are forced to flee his or her home but remains within his or her country’s border. They are often referred to as refugees, although they do not fall within the current legal definition. Many internally displaced persons are among the world’s most vulnerable people unlike refugees, but have not crossed an international border to find sanctuary but have remained inside their home countries. Even if they have fled for similar reasons as refugees (armed conflict, generalized violence, human right violations), they legally remain under the protection of their own Government no matter what might be the cause of their fight, as citizens they retain all of their rights and protection under both human right and international humanitarian law. This paper aims at developing a centralized database system designed using PHP for the user interface alongside MYSQL and WAMP. This is a local web server for testing application to manage the backend database which will store displaced persons registration information as well as number of persons registered in a particular
